Jenny Bennett Named Chairman of American Bankers Association Communications Council 

WASHINGTON — The American Bankers Association (ABA) announced the appointment of Jenny Bennett as the new Chairman of its Communications Council, effective immediately. The Council is responsible for molding the ABA’s messaging to its members and the public, enhancing the banking industry’s image, and providing pertinent business and policy information.

Bennett will serve a year-long term as Chair. The Communications Council comprises a chairperson, a vice chairperson, and 12 other bankers and industry leaders from across the Country. The leadership is appointed annually to maintain consistent leadership within the Council.

In a statement, Bennett said, “As we confront the evolving challenges in banking, the importance of clear and effective communication becomes paramount. It’s an honor to be a part of the American Bankers Association Communications Council, where our goal is to inform, report, and build lasting trust in our nation’s banks. The Council strives to uphold the worthy values of the ABA, ensuring our industry thrives as a pillar of economic success.”

As Chairman, Bennett will oversee a team that helps examine the ABA’s communication methods, including emails, newsletters, marketing materials, and social media campaigns, to ensure they effectively convey the organization’s key messages.

Bennett’s role also involves proposing new strategies for improving the banking industry’s reputation, enhancing member communications, and driving greater engagement. She will promote the ABA’s communication initiatives and encourage best practices among her banking peers. The ABA represents banks of all sizes and their two million dedicated employees. They provide advocacy, expertise, tools, and training. There are 4,500 banking institutions in the US.
