Bend, Ore – Cascade Business News has named Summit Bank’s Maarty Leunen an Accomplished Under 40 honoree, recognizing his career accomplishments and his devotion to young people and community organizations across Central Oregon.
A Central Oregon native, Leunen graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in economics before being drafted by the Houston Rockets. He spent 13 years playing professional basketball in Turkey, Germany, and Italy. Since joining Summit Bank five years ago, he has brought that same discipline and team-first approach to serving clients.
Leunen’s connection to the community extends well beyond his work at the bank. He founded the Maarty Leunen Basketball Camp in 2015 and continues to lead it. The camp has served more than 1,500 students across Central Oregon, giving young athletes coaching, encouragement, and mentorship.
He also coach’s varsity basketball at Ridgeview High School, where he invests time in his players’ growth on and off the court. In partnership with the Rotary Club of Redmond, he organizes the annual Maarty Leunen Desert Rose Golf Fundraiser. Now in its eighth year, the event has raised more than $150,000 for local charities. Leunen has also served on the Redmond Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Whether he is helping a client, coaching a player, or supporting a local cause, Leunen is known for showing up and putting others first. Summit Bank congratulates Maarty on this recognition and thanks him for the many ways he continues to give back to the community that helped shape him.
