Oregon’s Business Bank reports donating more than $1.2 million and logging 6,100 volunteer hours over the past five years.
Eugene,Ore. — Summit Bank has released its first Community Impact Report, showing the Bank’s support for nonprofit organizations, local economic development, affordable housing, education, health and basic needs, and community programs across Oregon.
The 2025 Impact Report reflects Summit Bank’s belief that community banking goes beyond financial services. Over the past five years, Summit Bank has donated more than $1.2 million to organizations serving Oregon communities and enabled colleagues to volunteer for more than 6,100 hours.
In 2025 alone, Summit Bank donated $404,275, volunteered 1,695 hours, and supported 205 organizations through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer service.
“For more than 20 years, Summit Bank has been built on the belief that when a bank invests in its community, everyone is stronger for it,” said Craig Wanichek, President and CEO of Summit Bank. “This report gives us a chance to share the work our colleagues, clients, and community partners are doing every day across Oregon. We are proud to support organizations that are helping local families, businesses, and neighborhoods move forward.”
The report also highlights Summit Bank’s work in affordable housing. Summit Bank has helped finance 127 permanently affordable homes through construction and/or permanent financing, with 123 additional permanently affordable homes currently under committed construction and 104 homes in the pipeline through support of state and local funding applications.
Summit Bank has also financed more than 1,300 units of affordable rental housing through construction and/or permanent financing. The Bank is an active participant in the Network for Oregon Affordable Housing’s permanent loan fund and doubled its pledge to NOAH’s pool in 2026.
In addition to financial support, Summit Bank colleagues serve in more than 70 board and committee roles across Oregon. These roles include nonprofit boards, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, housing groups, youth programs, and industry associations.
“Strong communities are built by people and organizations that choose to show up,” Wanichek said. “I am especially proud of our colleagues who give their time and talent in service to others. Whether they are mentoring youth, serving meals, supporting affordable housing, or lending their expertise on a board, they represent the best of what community banking is about.”
Summit Bank’s 2025 Impact Report includes support across five major areas: economic development, youth and education, health and basic needs, community arts, and animal welfare. The report also features regional organizations and partners throughout Summit Bank’s Oregon footprint, including Eugene/Springfield, Central Oregon, and the Portland metro area.
