June 4, 2024: Eugene, OR – Craig Wanichek, President & CEO of Summit Bank and Paul Weinhold, Summit Bank Board of Directors Chair, announced today the appointment of Ann Marie Mehlum, Alan Evans and John York as Director Emeritus in recognition of their exceptional service and commitment to Summit Bank. In addition, we honor the legacies of two esteemed founding directors posthumously, Gretchen Pierce and Pete Moore, by appointing them as Directors Emeritus.
The Director Emeritus title is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a retiring Director and is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding record of service to the Bank. Mehlum, Evans and York with their minimum 15 years of dedicated service on the Board, epitomize the qualities of leadership, integrity, and dedication that this prestigious title represents.
According to Weinhold, “The title of Director Emeritus is the foremost recognition that can be conferred on a retiring Director. These former board members have demonstrated a distinguished record of service to the Bank.”
In their role as Director Emeritus, Mehlum, Evans and York will continue to serve as an ambassador for Summit Bank, representing Oregon’s business bank within the community and providing invaluable insights and guidance to the leadership team.
